Working with J & E was an absolute joy from start to finish. The venue, Bowerchalke Barn, is a 16th century threshing barn, set in the heart of the Wiltshire Chalke Valley. This is where we met 10 months before their wedding to walk the course and decide on how to decorate the barn.
Surrounded by breath-taking views and full of rustic features, the location set the style for the wedding: Boho and wild in shades of burnt orange.
The ceremony took place in the oak ceremony hut, under an arch of seasonal foliage and flowers, with the aisle lines with wild, unstructured meadow boxes
The beautiful bridal bouquets had everything the season had to offer in them, from roses, Orlya & Dianthus to Peonies, sweet peas, Ammi, Scabious and grasses, in all the shades of orange with highlights of white and cream, and finished off with silk ribbons.
Inside the barn we made full use of the rustic features, decorating the wrought iron lighting fixtures to create chandeliers of seasonal foliage. The tables were decorated with wreaths and lanterns, brining the warmth that candlelight creates to the ancient barn.
The aisle meadow boxes were moved to the front of the top table and the bridal bouquets used as part of the table decorations, making the most of the floral budget.
